Shivani Singh

Jacksonville, Florida · Est. studio 2019

Shivani Singh is a contemporary painter and educator working from her studio in Jacksonville. Her practice moves between oil, resin, textured acrylics, and mixed media — often returning to the same shoreline, the same window, the same hour of light, until the painting knows more than she does.

A self-taught artist driven by curiosity and experimentation, her work has been shown across Florida and collected privately by those who connect with her heart-led approach. Alongside the studio, she teaches small workshops — a quiet, technical practice open to anyone willing to slow down.

Artist statement

On slow looking

Most of my paintings begin as a question I can't quite phrase — how does a monsoon window feel at 4pm, what colour is the sea five minutes before it rains, why does one particular room hold light better than another. Painting is the way I stay with the question long enough to hear an answer.

I work slowly and in series. A single canvas may sit against the wall for weeks before it's finished; nothing leaves the studio until it has been lived with. I care about materials that will outlast me — good linen, honest pigment, hand-finished frames — and I try to make work that rewards a second look.

"I'm not trying to capture a place. I'm trying to remember it correctly."

Common questions

Before you write

Do you take commissions?

Do you ship internationally?

Every painting ships worldwide, insured, in a custom-built crate. Turnaround is typically 7–14 days after purchase.

How do your workshops work?

Groups are capped at eight. Materials are provided, and you leave with a finished painting and a small technique booklet.
