Shivani Singh

Hi, I'm Shivani Singh — an artist and art educator based in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm entirely self-taught. No formal art institute, no degree — just years of watching, learning from wherever I could find it, and simply making things with my own hands until they got better.

It all started almost by accident. I picked up oil painting just to keep myself calm, following Bob Ross videos step by step, one happy little tree at a time. I didn't expect much from it — it was just something to quiet my mind. But painting after painting, I started noticing myself improving, and so did my family and friends. Their encouragement is what pushed me to keep going, and that's when I really started exploring — trying new mediums, new techniques, pushing past what felt comfortable.

Somewhere along the way, I started teaching too — workshops and classes for both kids and adults. And that's when I realized something I didn't expect: I don't just love making art, I love teaching it just as much. There's nothing quite like watching a student's face when they finish a piece — that mix of pride, excitement, and surprise at what they just created. That feeling is a huge part of why I do this.

Today, my work moves across resin art (mostly ocean and beach-inspired pieces on wood), Lippan art, textured acrylics, and oil painting. Whether I'm in the studio experimenting with a new technique or in a classroom guiding a room full of students, it all comes from the same place: art as joy, as calm, and as connection.

When I'm not painting or teaching, you'll usually find me at home in Jacksonville with my husband, my teenage son, and our mini Goldendoodle keeping us all on our toes.
